FTP's Friends & Foundations Network supports folks who are interested in or already involved with their local Friends of the Library or Library Foundation group. The Network meets over Zoom on the 4th Wednesday of the month, from 6:30-8pm ET. Each meeting includes time focused on a specific topic, followed by open discussion on any issues, questions, or ideas folks are interested in getting feedback on. Our goal is to provide ongoing support and resources, and be a place to connect with other people from across the country who are interested in joining these groups and bringing in a leftist perspective. Join us!
Next meeting: May 27th, 2026 from 6:30-8:00pm ET
Topic: Budgets: Assessing them from a leftist library perspective.
An organization’s budget concretely reflects what it values. This meeting discussion will focus on looking at budget documents--both expenditures and income streams--to assess what is being prioritized, where there may be concentrations of power in the form of dollars, and where there may be opportunities to advance leftist library goals
